Signage within the external areas of the site is appropriate as a passive measure to guide all (especially visitors) to their destinations.
This is especially important on large and complex sites where locations are difficult to find.
Those familiar with the site and its idiosyncrasies soon lose sight of the obvious deficiencies.
An untrained eye should be invited to pass judgment upon safe navigation.
